The Q-switch laser fires light in extremely short pulses, a few billionths of a second each. Pigment absorbs the energy and shatters into tiny particles that the body clears over the following weeks, while the skin around it stays intact. It works with two wavelengths: a longer one that reaches deeper pigment and is the safe choice for Indian skin, used for laser toning, and a shorter one for surface spots like freckles and sun spots. Low-energy passes over the whole face even out tone; focused pulses treat individual spots and tattoo ink.
